Aside from material costs, fabrication is the main contributing factor that can significantly affect the final price of stone countertops. Considerations that will drive the cost of the project include the profile (edge style), lamination of edges, finish and complexities of cuts required to complete the project. Granite is ussually sold by the slab from slabyards. The price of fabrication normally includes transportation cost, templating, cutting, polishing, delivery and installation of the counters. The total amount of material required is determined by the layout of the cuts and the amount of waste for a given slab. At WagnerGranite, we will work with you to determine the most efficient us of the slab that will result in the least amount of waste.

Before installing the countertops, make sure your cabinets are securely fastened to the walls and can handle the weight of the new counters. Sometimes, decking of the cabinets may be required to help support the new counters. Some determining factores for this can bed material strength, thickness and overall stability of the cabinets. Before fabrication can begin, a template must be made of the space. Please have all installation materials onhand so an accurate template can be made. Cabinets should be installed, as well as having drop-in cooktops and sinks available at time of templating.
